Committee details

The Licensing Sub-Committee (Taxis) exists to carry out licensing functions relating primarily to Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles.  The Sub-Committee also regulates those licensed activities not included within the scope of the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005 (i.e. incinerators, sex shops, pet shops and so forth).

Please note that members of the public are unable to attend meetings of the Licensing Sub-Committee when Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle license applications and reviews are being considered owing to the personal nature of the information being discussed by the Councillors.
