The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) aims to connect local ambition with national targets by engaging local authorities in a ‘single conversation’ on all aspects of housing and regeneration. The Single Conversation is the way in which the HCA agrees and secures delivery at a local level in support of national objectives. The term ‘Single’ Conversation refers to its comprehensive coverage including the full range of housing, infrastructure, regeneration and community activities. It draws on priorities for a local area as set out in key local plans and is an ongoing, evolving and dynamic process.
In order to deliver the agreed vision for an area, the Single Conversation will be supported by a Local Investment Plan (LIP) for the place. The LIP will identify the needs to be addressed, based on robust evidence from local strategies, including the Sustainable Communities Strategy, Local Development Framework and the Local Economic Assessment.
